Lymphological plastic-surgical treatment
Lymphological/plastic surgery as an additive measure to conservative lymphedema treatment may be indicated for:
- Skin tightening/ debulking surgery after physical decongestive therapy of lymphedema in stage III (elephantiasis)
- Removal of lymphocutaneous fistulae
- Removal of lymphangiomas
- Surgical revision ofof genital lymphedema
- Lymph collector transplantation according to Baumeister may be performed in suitable cases.
